Grapefruit Mountain: The Saga

Alright, so I suppose before I start posting regularly I should write some sort of brief introduction about this resurrection. I started Grapefruit Mountain during my senior year of high school. Born out of pure boredom, I began writing about music related topics that spanned from show reviews to contemporary trends within the industry. Flash forward four years later, and I find myself wanting to do more or less of the same. However, I'm no longer an eighteen year old living in a very bizarre part of Northern Michigan (instead I'm twenty one, living in an even stranger area of Brooklyn - not too sure which is more interesting to be honest.) Writing is fun. And I get quite a bit of joy out of sharing my favorite music-related things with others. Combine the two and you have the rebirth of Grapefruit Mountain, the once high school blog now turned undergrad music blog!

Give me a month or so and you will begin to pick up on the type of stuff that I'm interested in sharing. If you know me at all, I make it obvious that I worship psychedelic rock, blues, and a good amount of garage/lo-fi tunes. With that being said, I am also a huge hip-hop head, and very well versed in instrumental hip-hop, production, and anything associated with the 90's east coast scene. My heroes are Nasir Jones and Patti Smith. I hate genre discrimination. And I think the most beautiful song ever written is Lover You Should've Come Over by Jeff Buckley (bc/ she's the tear that hangs inside my soul forever *shrugs*). Anyways, I hope whoever ends up reading or listening to whatever I post in this reiteration of my blog enjoys doing so. You probably won't find me writing  about anything in a negative light, considering that I only spend time analyzing music that I believe in. Please check back frequently as I plan on updating pretty regularly! And until next time, enjoy a video of Jeff Buckley performing (the third best song off of Grace,) So Real (I promise this isn't a Jeff Buckley fan blog - [two mentions in one post may scare some people] - I'm just having a moment tonight) :
